Anne Katrine Senstad - Cosmosis Collages
In the work of Norwegian cross-media artist Anne Katrine Senstad, photography, film, light art, spatial work and land art come together. She is interested in the sensory side of aesthetics and connects this with overarching ideas from art, philosophy and society.
Senstad has exhibited widely internationally, including Centre Pompidou (Paris), the Venice Biennale, Huis der Kulturen der Welt (Berlin), Museum of Modern Art (Kiev), ISEA 2014 (Dubai), Kunsthall 3,14 (Bergen, Norway), Bruges Art and Architecture Triennale (Belgium).
The series ‘Cosmosis Collages’ is based on nineteenth-century abstract art movements such as supremacism and constructivism, each of which strived in its own way for a higher, utopian state of consciousness. The compositions of Senstad are meticulous references to these movements and refer to a feeling of being one with the universe, a condition that transcends mortality.View project >>
