Marco Vernaschi

Terra Cognita

In February 2012, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Culture named Marco Vernaschi (Italy) Ambassador of Italian Excellence in the World, for his achievements in Arts.

His last work, Placebo, was exhibited in 2011 at the Venice Biennale, in St. Petersburg and Buenos Aires and will be at the MACRO, in Rome, September 2012. Vernaschi’s work with the Pulitzer Center received several awards, including the World Press Photo.

Terra Cognita will be the stage from which Vernaschi will be introducing his work-in-progress Biophilia; a project which goes beyond photography including a show featuring Argentinean actress Juli Zeta, and a series of cultural events in which people are invited to contribute. Biophilia is Vernaschi's attempt to push photography beyond, opening to new form of expression and markets. In the following months Biophilia will also be presented (as a work in progress) in Paris, Tokyo and Los Angeles.

Venue: Restaurant Museum Belvédère.
The lecture is English spoken.
