In France there are billboards along the roads with posters of women in lingerie posted on them. These are not lingerie advertisements; the women are advertising their services as prostitutes. Nypels chose these billboards as the subject for a series of photographs in order to emphasize the tension between nature and the scantily clad women. Another series consists of photographs Nypels made during his trips to different places around the world. The subjects are varied and can stand by themselves; together they are a report of Nypels's travels.
