Four photographers sought out everyday, unremarkable places - places one often would pass by without noticing. Peter Kastner checked off the fifteen most important art locations on a map of Hamburg, and made fifteen photos there. The map of Hamburg was then laid on a map of Veenhuizen, in Drente, and a pin pushed through at these points; at these "random" found locations Ad Breedveld made two times fifteen photos, to complete a situationist project on the coincidental exception and the exceptional coincidence. Last year Paul Kramer inherited a hat from a dear friend, and in addition got back a jacket he had once given the friend. Enveloped in this clothing, he made portraits of himself in various places. They are "silent remarks during cautious moments." Willem de Boer van Groningen thought metropolises the most suitable places for his visual quest. There he focused on situations which occur by chance. He calls the photographs which come out of these passing moments "concentrated snapshots."
