In an eleven-metre-long work, Irma Stieler shows various sequences which allow themselves to be read like a film. It is a history of light, for her a symbol for the source of life and of photography. And with light comes darkness. Together, for Stieler, they represent life and death, creation and decay. At the same time, she is showing several object-cases in which she combines black and white photographs with objects.
