Since Carolien Schoonevoort started photographing, she has come to life. She records herself, preferably in interaction with others, as a mother, friend, colleague or lover, seeking solidarity and relationship. She has joined her fellow beings just before clicking the shutter. Not to photograph would mean she had no raison d'être. Nell Berger's art project is on the significance of family photos and the question of how, and with whom, a person feels at home. In 1995 Hans van der Meer began a reportage on the lower levels of Dutch amateur football. For it he focused not on the games, but on the landscape in which the game was played. It produced magnificent images: full of green fields, Dutch skies and men in coloured shirts. The photographs appeared in 1998 in the book "Hollandse Velden" (Dutch Fields), the third edition of which has just come out. |
