John Goto (Great Britain, b. 1949) has no history with Noorderlicht, but with the presentation of his series "High Summer" that is changing. The computer-assembled collages refer to both 18th century English garden design and 17th century French landscape painting. Goto brings old and new elements together in satiric dream landscapes, one time manifestly obvious, another time subtle. Never seen at Noorderlicht before, this series is a look ahead at the theme of Noorderlicht 2003.
