With the series "Nudes," Tami Amit (ISR/F, b. 1972) shows us the nude bodies of young women. They sit or lie impassively - spent but also vulnerable. The lighting is soft, but the green tint assures that the intimate images also have something mysterious and ominous about them. With these photographs Amit broaches the theme of "the body in decline." What is now beautiful will someday become ugly and finally rot away. At the same time, Amit presents "Alice in Wonderland," a series of separate images of dolls and nature and women's portraits. Together they tell a storybook tale. |
