Renze Dijkema collects discarded objects, which he arranges in his studio according to colour. This collection is the source of his photographs and collages. In many of Dijkema's still lifes one object will be central. The essence of this object is evoked through a great contrast between sharply focused and out of focus areas. Since 2000 Dijkema has been working on a series of landscapes constructed of found materials. The greatly enlarged format of the photographs and the narrow depth of field put recognisable objects in a disorienting context.
