Everyday things that generally reveal themselves in the corner of the eye are often the starting point for a new series of works by Ans Courtier. Fragments of buildings, views through wire reinforced glass, or the movements of tadpoles undergo surprising transformations through associations in works constructed in series. The most recent is the series Feathery: feathers with particular movements in unlimited space. This series began after an encounter with a featherless young blackbird. This was the point of departure for making photographs which visualise how flying is already present in a feather. |
