In his portraits Peter de Boer wants to record the openness and warmth he encounters on his travels. For him countries such as Ecuador, India and Ladakh are the source of inspiration to depict people in their simplicity and naturalness. The favourite subjects of Wiebe van Wijk are tranquil landscapes, village views and sleepy fishing ports. In recent years he has increasingly turned his camera on details, and his photographs exude a non-figurative aura. Barend Peuscher also has a predilection for details. He investigates the eloquence of forms and structures, chiefly organic. His work evokes feelings of menace, poignancy or expectation. Wenda Heslinga collects images that produce disorientation through isolation or unusual points of view. In the rhythmically constructed photographs traces of recognition create intriguing effects.
