The texture and grand character of landscapes define the images in De Vries's oeuvre. Everything is Water is the title of her presentation of tranquil images of the boundary between land and water. She stages nothing. She goes in search of, stumbles across, waits for. Awe and amazement, that is what it is about for her. Awe for the majesty of nature, amazement at nature's even new order, down to the smallest detail. Koos Lina says of her work: 'Odds and ends jumbled together, dead fish bathed with fat and sprinkled with dust. Light, color, planes, lines, rhythm and texture do their part.
