From factory workers to the highest government officials, in Thailand everyone visits the Mor Doos, or literally the 'future doctors'. As a result, these diviners have an indirect influence on government policy, which has led to various scandals. In making their predictions they chiefly draw on symbols and elements from Buddhism. Their contacts with their clients are emotional and intense. Mor Doos can be found everywhere: on the street, in shops, hotels and nightclubs.

Aurore Belkin (b. 1968, France) lives in Dubai. She has done previous series on the intermingling of religion and public life in Laos and Nepal.
