Exhibited are, women's portraits (1992), photos of former concentration camp Terezin (1992) and photos taken in the Turkish village of Kesikkopru (1993). Jan de Goede writes about Divendal: "Comparing his photos to the quantity of photographic images poured out trying to force sensationalism upon us, then these photos posess a relieving silence, subtle riplings stimulating our senses and inciting contemplation. I experience Divendal's photography as a form of poetry. His camera is the thoughtful eye that tries comprehend things with a reflective perspective. His photos are special as they witness intensely the experience of seeing with an unemphatical quality." |
