In the eyes of Hendrik Jan Jager (1951) photography is often seen as means to record a moment, a situation. He himself is interested in photography as a means of expression. Furthermore the photos ought to be multi-interpretive: "my photos have to have so much 'space' that the spectator can interpret it in his own way". During Noorderlicht his digitally edited black-and-white photos of Scottish landscapes are exhibited. Expressive in form and colour the works conjure up a enormous dimensionality, in which the spectator can discover various meanings. |
