In her work Anuschka Blommers (1969) touches on the perception of reality. In her eyes we have been entangled in a jungle of visual images emphasising the climax, the extreme, the successful, and so on. To get a grip on reality she creates a reality of her own, by looking for it in her own surroundings and playing with ordinairy things and memories. "I want ordinairy things to be able to be a mystery. Someone who simply gets up from his chair, becomes extremely vulnerable by freezing of this action".
Mark van den Brink (1965) presents a selection of photographs from series taken in the past three years. The work displayed is a report of his roamings through parks, along rivers, in forests and on streets. He does not make the images up beforehand, but meets and recognizes them. Searching and seeing he tries to view the world as an outsider. |
