In 1994 Pepijn Provily (1968) graduated from the Gerrit Rieveld Academie in Amsterdam. A large number of publications, assignments and exhibitions followed, including Peiling 4 in 1995 at the Groninger Museum, followed. During his photo manifestation in his Gallery Wijk his most recent works are on view. Pepeijn Provily's photos are about himself, about his own world. They are authentic images, that have not been manipulated. They have a silent, modest beauty. Like a painter he sets up his still-lifes, or sits down a model: very carefully, discretely and intimately. His work closely links up to traditional visual arts, formally speaking.
