De Vries mostly finds her inspiration in the structure and the monumental character of the landscapes of the Wadden and of Schotland, in which human elements often play a leading role. During Noorderlicht she combines colour photos with other visual means, giving the whole thing the character of an installation.
In De Boer's work the concentrated viewer is the main focus. His subjects are mainly drawn from the so-called 'large city culture,' that he records in an ironic and, at the same time poetic way. His colourful photos are characterised by monumental compositions of which the underlying structure is visibly abstract; images that invite association. |
