In 1998, the Municipality of Groningen Photography assignment was given to Loodwicks Press Images (L.P.I.), which is under direction of artist/photographer Joep Neefjes. L.P.I. recorded encounters between people from Groningen and their meaningful places in the city. He was guided by these people, walking with his camera and notebook from one place to another. The photos will be shown in combination with text.

Neefjes is the Dutch director of Loodwick Press Images, a press agency and photo archive established in Paris that a unique way of creating invented realities. To get the best possible story from the photos, Neefjes researches the subject extensively. A selection of Neefjes' many randomly taken photos are then added to the story and supplemented, where necessary, with photos from the archives of L.P.I.
