The main focus of Mougin's work is the contradiction between, on the one hand control and command typical for human nature, and on the other hand the rawness and untameability of nature. This opposition is shown in the installation 'D'amour et de mort.' The photos show fragments from the world of flamenco and bull fighting. The ten diptychs have been set up in a ring around a circle of sand, which could be a symbol representing the arena, in which the fights take place between bull and toreador, between nature and culture, but could also be the setting for the ritual ceremony of an offering. |
