The Groningen 'Fotografencollectief Zilverwerk' was founded by Alberts, Kruger and Hörmann in September 1997, and consists of thirteen photographers. During Noorderlicht they will enjoy their first group exhibition in Kunstlievend Genootschap Pictura.
The photos are about man and his environment. They show a grey landscape, an abandoned residential area, an empty bar or a street in Berlin. Their photos all contain a quality of alienation and mystery. Blurry images alternate with sharp images, interiors look distorted and surrealistic.
The exhibition is called 'On the Road,' as the photos tell a story of a journey to another reality: a journey into the inner world of the photographer. An outsider will find the photos 'not right.' The Zilverwerk photographers are looking for another reality, one that corresponds to their inner perception. |
