Besnyö's photograph of a gypsy boy with a far too big cello on his back, with in the background an unclear and endless road (seeming to symbolise his uncertain future) is very well-known. Some of the photos on show were taken on commission, while some were taken on her own initiative. She photographed children playing in the streets who seem to be unconscious of the presence of the photographer. Some of her best work was more good luck than anything else, Besnyö calls those photos her "lucky things." "Had I been in charge on those days, it wouldn't have come out like this."
