Saelman photographs flowers. The longer she studies them, the more abstract they become. She began dissecting the flowers and photographing the various components of the flowers. A great variety of colours and shapes appeared, while the original flower became more and more unrecognisable. Saelman became fascinated by the fact that everyone looks at flowers, but that no one admires the complexity of the different components of the flowers. With her Polaroid photos she tries to visualise that which is usually passed by.
