The series "Ruhr Characters" shows images of bridges and aerial photographs of motorways. The bridges have been photographed at close range so that hardly recognisable details fill the photo, causing a feeling of alienation. The aerial photos also have a feel of alienation about them, for they do not show a clear and orderly map, but a tangle of roads.
