Stuth creates a new architectonic world in her work. She photographed the building process of various buildings in Berlin. She edited the shots to eventful, teeming collages with strange effects. The photos have been printed alternately negative and positive. The freshly coloured draft contrasts with the drably realised architecture.
Across from these collages Stuth places simple, plain portraits of people from her generation, possible inhabitants of these new cities. The portrayed people, however, remain tied to reality, and therefore form the bridge between the artificial, fictitious world of the architecture photos and the real world, in which the viewer lives. |
