Thomas Dworzak (Germany, b. 1972) showed an early interest in the Middle East and Eastern Europe. After photographing the war in Yugoslavia, he began a long-term photo project on the Caucasus. He still goes to Chechenia to document the conflict there. As a photographer he has recorded hostilities in Afghanistan, Israel, Iraq, Iran, Haiti and Pakistan for clients including Newsweek, Paris Match and Time Magazine. Dworzak became a member of the Magnum photo agency in 2004.
