Kadir van Lohuizen (Netherlands, b. 1963) began to travel and photograph when he finished school. For clients such as Vrij Nederland, The Independent and Newsweek, he recorded conflicts in Palestine, South Africa and Angola, among other places. Under the title Aderen he documented life along the great rivers such as the Ganges and Mississippi. In 2005 he presented the book Diamond Matters, about the journey diamonds make 'from the mines to the jet set' Van Lohuizen's work was previously seen at the Noorderlicht Photofestival in 2000, Africa Inside. Van Lohuizen is represented by Agency Vu.

Van Lohuizen won the following prizes for these series:
Second prize in the category Contemporary Issues, Stories in the World Press Contest 2006.

Silver in the category Nature and Environment Series at the second election of the photo of the year by the CHIPP (China International Press Photo Contest) - March 2006.
