This site offers information on the activities of the international Noorderlicht Photofestival, the Noorderlicht Photogallery, the project bureau and publisher Aurora Borealis, located in Groningen, the Netherlands.

All images are calibrated for 'sRGB' display, the most common internet standard. If you are a Mac user with Internet Explorer, please switch on the 'use colorsync' option in the browser preferences, this will make the images look the same as for Windows users.

The Noorderlicht website is designed by Dirk de Jong and programmed by Wim Melis. It is built using a custom designed database system. The system runs under Mac OS X and uses Filemaker, Applescript, Javascript, Fireworks, Photoshop and BBedit.
