RUG PUBLISHES GRADUATION GIFT
A contemporary version of the Album Amicorum

In cooperation with Noorderlicht Photography, the RuG (University of Groningen) is re-establishing an old tradition: the Album Amicorum. In the past, students would collect personal notes from friends, acquaintances or famous contempories they were in contact with during their studies. The collected clippings were called the Album Amicorum and served as a colourful memory of university life.

The university wishes to re-establish this age-old tradition, be it in a slightly modernized design: a photographic image story, that gives an impression of what your university life was like. It will be given to you as a graduation gift. The new album shows student life in all its many rich facets. Just like in the Album Amicorum, the photo book will have room for personal notes from your fellow students, or an anecdote from your favourite professor for example.

A part of the book is reserved for photographic contributions from students themselves. So: if you have (already) taken a great picture that rightly captures what student life is like for you, we heartily invite you to send it to us. You might end up being exclusively published in the new RuG album!
