The photography assignment Thought Provoking, Sense Provoking in Wall House #2 is initiated by Noorderlicht and the Wall House #2 Foundation. At their invitation eight international photographers each stayed for one or two weeks in the Wall House #2 during the period September 2006 - February 2007. Beth Yarnelle Edwards (US), Thomas Kellner (Germany), Wijnanda Deroo (Neth./US), Isabelle Hayeur (Canada), Danwen Xing (China), Bill Jacobson (US), Mitra Tabrizian (Iran/GB) and Anoek Steketee (Neth.) let themselves be challenged, surprised and inspired by this eccentric design by the famous American architect and architectural theoretician John Hejduk (1929-2000). They processed their ideas and experiences into eight series that collectively engage in a highly creative game with architecture and photography.

The exhibition of this project will show in the Noorderlicht Photogallery from July 21rst through September 2nd, 2007. The exhibition is accompanied by a photo book published by Aurora Borealis. From September 2007 the exhibition will tour the world.
