Noorderlicht is a multifaceted and international podium for socially inspired photography with a story to tell. It is a place for photographers who explore their world and in their work picture its big events and everyday occurrences, and everything in between. They do this in a moving, enthusiastic, critical and personal way, and always with great commitment. These are also the starting points of the Noorderlicht Project Bureau.

The project bureau is responsible for the following activities:
- initiation of photography assignments
- coordination of the touring of Noorderlicht exhibitions
- cooperates with other colleague organisations, companies, and non-profit organisations for co productions and to support non-western photographers

The project bureau works together with curators and institutions on the exchange of exhibitions and on co productions worldwide.
