'A Horse Is a Horse, of Course' is a small animal encyclopaedia. Stienes Veldkamp (Grou, 1965) staged photographs of artificial animals and found unexpected text fragments from old animal books to go with them. The result is a play with reality, a different look at the animal kingdom that doesn't shy away from a bit of humour.
The project is also available as a photobook, in an English edition and a Dutch edition. A preview with photos and texts is available on the pages about the book.
